We had visited Siem Reap before using Sophoan's firm. This time we asked for a personalised tour of Cambodia covering Phnom Penh, Battambang and our favourites in Angkor and beyond. Sophoan's descriptions in Phnom Penh will stay with us for life and his personal experiences made it all very real. We had a very specific tour of Angkor, but he breathed new life into our personal favourites and was knowledgeable about the new locations too - Beng Melea is definitely worth the trip! We had a great time and Sophoan definitely played his part in that. We could not recommend him highly enough.
Miss. Gwen Alabata X My Family and I booked a 2 days Angkor wat/Siem Reap tour. It was very easy to book and communication was smooth. Picked up at the hotel early morning brought to the border and crossed without any problem. Our tour guide Kim was very knowledgeable and funny. We had fantastic time in Cambodia. 5 star rating to this travel and tours. You wouldn't regret it. My family and I are were very much happy with what we had experienced. Kudos to this travel group. Definitely worth every penny. Thank you for the hospitality and superb time.

'If you want to get the most from your visit and learn as much as you can, hire a guide'. This was the advice I was given and I'm glad I followed it. In my opinion we couldn't have picked a better guide. Chet was an expert guide always polite, on time, knowledgeable and educated with a great sense of humour. His prices were very reasonable and upfront. He took us to many interesting places such as Tonle Sap Lake fishing village and market and we learnt much about the local culture, customs and history of the area. We would have missed out on this valuable insight if we'd have wondered around on our own. Chet also took us to a number of temples and knew all of the best photo angles and the best time of day to visit to avoid the crowds. Chet has an incredible knowledge of the temples and the culture that built them. Chet is very enthusiastic and you can tell he loves his job. He really looks after you and makes your visit unforgettable.
We availed of their services for a 2 nights, 3 days road trip from Bangkok to Angkor Wat and back. We are exhausted and satiated at the same time. There is so much to absorb from a culture and culinary perspective and the time duration was barely enough. The whole trip was very well managed including the border crossings. Our Angkor guide Kim and driver Sith were very informative and engaging. Kim made all the adjustments we wanted in our schedule including a sunrise trip to Angkor. That was quite an ethereal experience. Would highly recommend their services.
I was heading to Thailand with friends and had a couple extra days at the end of the trip where I would be alone and wanted to take a 'day trip' (from Bangkok) to somewhere I hadn't seen. I decided upon travel to Siem Reap, Cambodia to visit the Angkor Wat temple complex! I wanted to go by car/bus and finding a group tour at the time I was there proved difficult. So, I looked up tour companies that might do private guided tours and found Sophoan Rath and his company. From the start, Sophoan was extremely responsive and put together a 2 day, 1 night trip to meet my needs. I asked about safety as a single female traveler and Sophoan assured me the trip was safe and that I would be assisted each and every step of the way. This turned out to be exceptional! The assistance was like a perfectly synchronized relay: from Bangkok hotel pick-up, to hand off to another guide at the border who walked me through visa obtainment and border crossing, to handover to the next driver who took me from border to Siem Reap hotel, where Sophoan came to say 'hi' and tell me of pick-up time the next day. This was all replicated in reverse on my way back to Bangkok!! Then, the Angkor Wat tour (from sunrise through afternoon) was exceptional and Sophoan, an accredited Cambodian Tourism Guide, had great knowledge of the history. It is an experience I will always remember. I highly recommend using Sophoan Rath and his tour company when exploring Cambodia--for this type of tours or others.
I had booked a private full-day tour for Prasat Preah Vihear, Hoh Ker and Beng Mealea. The tour was one of the most memorable sighseeing trips I have ever undertaken, thanks to Mr. Sophoan Rath. His dedication, knowledge and personal care are truly outstanding. I learned so much about the history and culture of the three places in particular, and Angkor Wat and Cambodia in general, I feel a great sense of debt and gradtidue. Should you visit Seam Reap and look for a tour guide/company: look no further, this is the one to choose!
We booked a one day tour for two people of Prek Toal and had a wonderful day. Our visit to the Nature Reserve got us stunning views of vast numbers of rare birds including three species of stork, pelicans, oriental darter, ibis, two species of eagle, two species of kingfisher and at least 10 heron species. The quantity and scale of the bird seen is probably the closest thing to a real life Jurassic Park you can get! After we finished with the birds we had a lovely lunch at a cafe in the floating village, followed by a paddleboat tour. Our guide Sophoan Rath, was excellent; very friendly and knowledgeable and clearly had a lot of experience of the area. Throughout the day he not only arranged the trip logistically, but at various points throughout the day also drove, acted as translator, spotted and identified birds and even helped row a paddle boat at one point. We cannot recommend him enough!
Folks...if you are looking for a great trip to Angkor Wat this is it! Sophoan is responsive and got our tour schedule all sorted out and all we did was had a fantastic time! The pick-up to drop-off were flawless and our days were packed with activities! We got to see everything we wanted and more (Silk factories, local pottery, and crafts)! Our tour guide was Kim and he knew just about everything to know about Angkor Wat! Kim was flexible to our schedule and had the best recommendations. Ask for him if you are going on this trip! I would visit Cambodia again just for this tour!
Highly recommend this trip. Its such a good way to see all the temples off the beaten track... Many you wouldn't see otherwise. Our guide BoBo was so helpful, informative and caring. Perfect for the job! Thank you. Its a full day but paced well so you have the right balance of cycling but also seeing all the temples. The included coconut juice was a nice touch!
We did a full day Angkor cycling tour, together with our friendly guide Sophoan Rath and had a really nice day. The bicycles were comfortable (offroad suitable) and of high quality. They were brought to the hotel in the morning, so we had no hassle. Pick-up time was easily agreed by email beforehand and everybody was on time. As there were no other tourists that day, we were lucky and got a private tour for the two of us. We (age mid twenty) were impressed by the fitness of our guide, who kept going smoothly all day long while the youngsters got heavy legs in the afternoon. ;) The tour does not require a certain fitness level, as speed is adjusted to your needs and terrain is flat, nevertheless weather is hot and we made almost 40km that day. The bicycle is the perfect transport option for Angkor as temples are to far apart to walk. You get closer to the temples with a bike than with a TukTuk and save walking time. During the tour, we stopped at all major temples in the Angkor complex and explored them by foot. I feel like we have seen really a lot in one day! (We used our following 2 days to see Kbal Spean, Banteay Srey and Bang Mealea outside of Angkor and only came back for sunrise/set). So if you have only limited time, the bicycle tour gives you a very good 1-day experience. I actually expected a little more "wilderness" during the tour, but the temple area's roads are all heavily used and most paved. But the guides know the nice shortcuts between the sites. The English explanations of our guide were interesting and easy to understand. He could answer all our questions and was super friedly. I need to emphasise here that he was always motivated to take pictures of us and had a really good eye for it (I'm usually dissatisfied with the outcome when handing my camera to any stranger ;-) Overall it was a very positive experience which I really can recommend!
